2018 Reunion

Event Details

THE REUNION SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED!

Without consulting your hard-working reunion committee,
The Powers That Be changed the date of the football game
after we had mailed over 800 invitations.

Bees are resourceful so we adapted the schedule.

THE DETAILS:  (Read carefully; there may be a quiz later.)

6:30 PM, THURSDAY, OCT 11:

Wear your blue & gold and we’ll cheer on the Bees at East-West Stadium as they take on Liberty High School. Kick off is at 7:00 PM but you'll want to get there early because we're getting in for FREE! Just go to the car gate of the stadium and tell 'em you're with EFHS Classes of 76 - 79. Coach Brookover set this up for us and all he expects is for us to "cheer like hell!"

The Class of 78 will be recognized at halftime for their 40th reunion. Some of the reunion committee members are going to The Rambling Root following the game (or maybe after halftime) and you are welcome to join us!

7:00 PM, FRIDAY, OCT 12:

Drop by for a ‘meet and greet’ at Copper House Grill, 1155 Airport Rd., Pleasant Valley. This is a very casual, drop-in-whenever type affair. You'll be on your own for food and drinks.

10:00 AM, SATURDAY, OCT 13:

Would you like to tour the new East Fairmont High School? Sure, it's been there for 25 years but it will always be "the new school" to those of us who graduated from the red brick building at 1 Orion Lane. The tour will last approximately two hours.

There is no charge for this event but we must know in advance how many are interested so please indicate it on your mail in registration OR the online registration option on this page.

6:00 PM, SATURDAY, OCT 13:

This is the highlight of the weekend! We've got Pleasant Valley Fire Department booked until midnight. Professional DJ Pat "Icebox" Taylor of the Class of 78 will provide the finest of entertainment.

To keep costs down, we're doing this tailgate style. Bring a food dish to share and we'll provide plates, napkins, flatware, etc. BYOB; we'll provide mixers and ice. We'll also have iced tea, lemonade, bottled water, and coffee.

Based on input from attendees and in recognition of our advancing age, we're tweaking the schedule this year; I.E., it won't get loud until 8pm.

Here's what's going on between 6pm - 8pm:

  • Check in, pick up a nametag, buy some tickets for a 50/50 raffle to benefit the EFHS Foundation.
  • Drop off your dish at the buffet table to share tailgate style.
  • Browse the Memorial table.
  • We'll take group photos, of course: one of all 4 classes and one of each class.
  • New this year: a  'photo booth (with props!) where you can have your photo taken individually or with a few friends.
  • Fill your plate with food; get something to drink.
  • Play Pat's "Stupid East Side Trivia Contest" and  "Name that 70s Tune."  Prizes will be awarded!
  • Moment of silence to remember our departed classmates and faculty.
  • Gather in circle, arms around one another, and sing "Take Me Home, Country Roads."

This activity is limited to the first 265 paid respondees. You may indicate your interest by registering online but your registration will not be confirmed until we receive your registration in the mail. A $10 donation per person is requested but we won't turn anyone away for lack of funds.

TO SUM UP: It's going to be another epic EFHS 76-79 reunion! Stop procrastinating already and mail in your RSVP. If you misplaced your invitation, download one here.

If you don't want to attend the reunion, read this first, please.

Nervous about coming or wondering what to wear? You should read it too.
