In Memory

Kimberly A Tharp (Bigler) - Class Of 1976

Kimberly Ann Tharp Bigler, 58, returned to her heavenly home on September 7th, 2015, after a valiant battle with a chronic illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Kimberly was born January 8th, 1958, in Fairmont, WV, to the late Georgia Elizabeth Janes Tharp and Howard W Tharp. She grew up in a loving home with her best friend and surviving sister, Debra S. Tharp.

She went on to marry her surviving husband Mark A. Bigler, with whom she had her three daughters Ashley Nicole Bigler, Alicia Dawn Bigler Davis, and Alexis Anne Bigler. Kimberly was also a proud Mimi to her three loving grand babies: Lorelai Elizabeth, Ryman James, and Emma Anne.

Kimberly is also survived by her Aunt Ruth Ann Janes Doby of Fairmont, WV, and also her Uncle Beryl Janes of Kingsville, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents Georgia and Howard, her Aunt Martha Janes Baker, Uncle William Janes, and Aunt Maxine Janes.

Family and friends were Kimberly's passion and delight. Family always came first but friends also became family. She loved to host, entertain, and feed anyone who came into her home. Kimberly loved to spend time with her late parents up until their final days, travel with her husband Mark, shop in Amish Country with her sister Debbie, laugh with her children Ashley, Alicia, Alexis, and son-in-law Jamie, and adored every second of her grand babies Lorelai, Ryman, and Emma.

She was infamous for taking in her children's friends when they needed a safe haven, a good meal, or a good laugh. Kimberly enjoyed quilting, crafting, and cooking. She celebrated life to the fullest and always celebrated holidays, especially Christmas and birthdays as if they were magical. Most importantly she exemplified her faith to anyone who came into contact with her. Kimberly's infectious humor and love for the Lord carried her through her entire journey, and she is now at peace with her creator.

Per Kimberly's request, there is only to be a private burial and no public services to be held. Kimberly asked that those who knew and loved her would celebrate her life and pay her kindness forward instead.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for all of the condolences, but declines flowers and donations made directly to the family. Rather, we encourage you to educate yourself about living donation, transplant centers, and the transplant process, as well as register to become an organ donor at https://www.unos.org/. We also encourage donations made to the Family House Inc. at 5001 Baum Blvd. Ste. 545, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 or donating on the UNOS website already provided. Kimberly was adamant that she wanted to encourage others to register to become an organ donor and to support the families behind each patient and donor.
