In Memory

Paula Raymond (Adkins) - Class Of 1976

Paula Kay (Raymond) Adkins, of Idamay, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on August 10, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born in Fairmont on March 10, 1958, a daughter of the late Robert Phillip and Susan Ann Russell Raymond.
Paula’s strong love for her grandchildren is what helped her fight the “Good Fight”; they kept her going and were her last thought every night. She was very proud that she helped shape, influence, and raise over 33 children throughout her lifetime.

Paula was an avid gardener, loved reading, cooking and trying new recipes for her family, and enjoyed the beach, especially the sound of the ocean waves.

Paula is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Sam Adkins; her four children, Aaron Hale and wife Emily, of Maryland; Derek Hale and wife, Samantha, of Bridgeport; Kevin Adkins and wife Angela, of North Carolina; and Jenelle Adkins Pry and her husband Scott, of Ohio.

She is survived by nine grandchildren, Blake Broderick, of Ohio; Chase Pry, of Ohio; Shelby and Emma Adkins of North Carolina; Gavin, Gracelyn Rae, and Graham Hale, of Bridgeport; and Bryce and Brooks Hale of Maryland.

Paula is also survived by brother, Robert “Bobby” Raymond and wife Susan, of Fairmont; sisters, Roberta “Robin” Long and Mary Harr, of Fairmont; as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Winnie Sliger and Denise Moore for the wonderful care and thoughtfulness they provided Paula, as well as UHC Hospice Care.
