Lillian Baker (Kester) - Class Of 1976

Lillian Ann Kester, 60, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Fairmont on November 8, 1957, the daughter of the late Charles George Baker and Evlina Ann Muto Baker.

Lillian is survived by her son, John E. Kester III and his companion Lauren Hawkins of Fairmont; three brothers, Charles Baker of Michigan, Max Baker of North Carolina and Carl Baker of Fairmont; a special friend, Will Hawkins of Fairmont; two dear friends, Gary and Kitty Monell of Fairmont; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a 1976 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She owned and operated the Econo Mart on Morgantown Avenue and had previously worked at Warehouse Grocery and at Frankie’s Supper Club. Lillian was also a member of the VFW Post 629 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to her son’s camp in Bowden, WV and loved her Mountaineers, Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Lillian’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501.

In accordance with Lillian’s wishes, her body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 6 p.m. with Sister Stella Cronauer, CSJ officiating.
