Jimmy Symenski - Class Of 1979

James Allen Symenski, of Colfax Community, passed away on Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2010) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Fairmont on April 11, 1960, a son of Joyce H. (Greathouse) Symenski Capet and her husband, Robert Capet, fondly know as “Pap”of Montana Mines.

James was preceded in death by his father, James H. Symenski in 1981.

James served as a supply clerk in the United States Army. He worked as a coal miner for 19 years at Federal No. 2. He was most recently employed at Ruskin Manufacturing for the past four years. He was a past member of the UMWA.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. James’ interests included riding motorcycles, swimming, fishing and most important to him, his family, especially his grandchildren.

n addition to his mother and her husband, he is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Watson) Symenski; three sons, James A. Symenski Jr. of Fairmont, and Michael Gooden and Kenneth Gooden both of Worthington; his grandchildren, Phillip Gooden, Kenna Gooden, Shyla Gooden and Jenna Symenski. Also surviving are two brothers, John Symenski and his wife Sharon of Colfax and Frank Symenski and his wife Debbie of Goose Creek, S.C.; three sisters, Joyce Locke and Patricia Parsley, both of Fairmont, and Marsha Fluharty and her husband Mac of Mannington; and several nieces and nephews.

Full military honors will be conducted at grave side by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
