William H Swisher - Class Of 1979

William “Billy” Harold Swisher, 55, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday (March 2, 2016) at his residence.

He was born in Fairmont, on Dec. 4, 1960, a son of the late Harold Lewis Swisher and Ruth Eleanor Plyman Swisher.

Billy graduated from East Fairmont High School and worked as a mechanic and at Controlled Systems. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping and just being outdoors.

Billy is survived by two sisters, Mary Ruth Evans and her husband Charles of Charleston and Elizabeth Wiley and her husband Robert of Fairmont; a nephew, James Wiley and his wife Christina; a niece, Amanda Wiley; four great-nieces and -nephews, Aven, Ianna, Kai and Corwin Wiley; his aunt and uncle, Ethel and Harold Shriver; his friend, Glenn Snider; as well as several cousins.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Lewis Swisher.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and from noon-1 p.m. Monday at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Hoffman officiating.

A committal service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
