Doris E. Carpenter, 49, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (Feb. 17, 2011) at her residence.

She was born Oct. 10, 1961, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Frank Martin and Barbara Jo Ashcraft.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Carpenter of Fairmont; two daughters, Cristy Linkh and her husband Ron of Farmington and Bobbie Jo Myers and her husband Jeremy of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Linkh of Farmington; one brother, Frank Martin of Fairmont; half brothers and sisters, Darlene Brooks, Chet Martin and Michael Stoneking. She also is survived by one stepbrother and three stepsisters.

Doris attended East Fairmont High School and was a hairdresser in Fairmont for 15 years, most recently working at Hairport. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her friends at Paula’s in both Fairmont and Clarksburg. She loved her family and especially enjoyed the family Sunday dinner, which became a tradition in her home. She lived for her two granddaughters and will be remembered for being a strong woman and an amazing mother.

Friends may visit the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 5 p.m. Monday with Evangelist Andy Miller officiating. Following the service, visitation will continue until 9 p.m. Monday.
