Mr. James Sherman Foltz, of Fairfax, Virginia, died peacefully on Friday (Dec. 1, 2017) at the age of 58 after a year-long illness.

Jimmy was born on July 2, 1959, in Fairmont, to parents James and Wilda Foltz.

He graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1977. At East Fairmont, he was a letterman in football and wrestling, proudly wearing #75. He graduated from West Virginia University with a BS/MS in computer science.

James started his career as a lecturer at West Virginia University in 1981. After moving to the Washington, D.C., metro area, James moved into technology consulting and spent the last 22 years with AtosInternational, most recently as a senior solutions manager. 

Jimmy was a loving father and friend to many. His twins always came first. Jimmy had a love for music, especially Bruce Springsteen, and Broadway shows with his children. He was an avid sport fan, especially his Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers. Jimmy enjoyed a long, successful career in technology and communications where his knowledge and professional approach gained him many friends and the respect of his peers globally. 

Jimmy is survived by his son, Matthew (Fairfax, Virginia); daughter, Madeline (Fairfax, Virginia); sisters, Mary Weikle (Danny) of Fairmont, Sandra Deaton of Fairmont, and Carol Zinn (Marty) of Fletcher, North Carolina; six nieces and nephews, seven grand-nieces and -nephews; wife, Mary Tipping (Fairfax, Virginia); and many dear friends he considered family.

He is predeceased by his grandmother, Virginia Jamison; parents, James and Wilda Foltz; and brother-in-Law, Alan Deaton.
